2004 - 2010 : Singapore
As teenagers, the two overlapped at Singapore American School. Despite their respective big personalities, they never developed much of a friendship!
Athelia was a star-student who shined on stage. Will didn’t take to school quite as much, opting to focus on sports and music.
They didn’t have much in common on the surface, but their connection would reveal itself in time…
June 15, 2018 : Red Rocks
Athelia and Will always had knacks for following the music.
For both of them, ODESZA was an artist in a league of their own, making music that would pull you across the country to spend a night with them.
Athelia packed her bags in Hollywood, while Will caught a flight in Brooklyn. Both made their way to Red Rocks and danced their hearts out under the Colorado sky.
After recognizing each other, they promised to meet and catch up if they ever found themselves in each other’s cities…
July 13, 2019 : Brooklyn
Athelia’s in New York! Sounds about time for these two to go on a date. Though truth be told, both were pretty sure they already liked each other.
After meeting up at McCarren Park in Greenpoint, the two grabbed dinner at BaoBurg. Will mentioned he could go for some chicken rice, as he was getting over some food poisoning. (That or some good old fashioned butterflies)
In true form, they danced the night away at the Brooklyn Mirage, where Will’s favorite record label was hosting a party. Athelia mentioned her friend was a DJ and made music with the label, to which Will laughed dismissively…
July, 27-28 2019 : The Gorge
Remember that DJ Athelia knew? That would be Spencer Brown, one of Will’s favorite artists. In fact, Will had plans to see him at the Gorge in just a few weeks.
Despite the absurdity of a second date so extravagant, the two made a plan: meet up in Seattle, head to the festival, and camp together for the weekend. (They definitely already liked each other)
Will’s friends quickly took Athelia in as one of their own, and as the old adage goes, the rest was history…
Ever since…
Joy and happiness, of course! We bounced around here and there during the pandemic. Will gave up his apartment in Brooklyn and moved his things to Los Angeles to join Athelia. The two found a lovely home in the Valley, complete with a driveway for a truck and a backyard for their dear Darwin.
Admittedly, the whole “getting married” thing was tough to wait for. On May 3rd, 2024, the great state of North Carolina officially recognized Athelia Paulli and William Stolarski as one. Shortly after, they traveled to Athelia’s native homeland, and celebrated in true Danish fashion on Midsommar, the longest day of the year.
That’s as far as our story goes for now, we can’t wait to write the next chapter with you…
