Community Agreements
We’ve created a weekend to celebrate love, community, and inclusivity. To ensure our time is a space for everyone to express themselves safely, we’ve outlined a couple small things we’re asking of everyone who joins us to keep in mind:
Don’t assume how others identify. We encourage everyone to display their gender pronouns on your nametags and share them when introducing yourself. If you’re curious about where someone is from, ask politely with questions like “Where do you call home?” or “What’s your family’s background?”
Practice affirmative consent. Ask others if it’s okay before hugging, kissing, or touching.
Take care of the land. Our wedding is taking place on Miracle Hill, where the only people prior to the 20th Century was the Cahuilla tribe. Our venue is a historic property that cares deeply about the plants and animals that call it home, so please do the same.
Take care of each other. If at any point something seems off, find someone to help. We will have staff throughout the event who will be ready to direct you to whatever resources you might need.
Bring an open mind. We’re inspired by the idea of bringing those from all walks of life together. Take the opportunity to get to know each other and learn something new. But most of all, have fun.
